Arrietta Burgess

Arrietta Burgess, 67, of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away on August 12, 2025. Arrietta was born on April 14, 1958, to Ray Smith and Eunice Beaver.

Arrietta is preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Smith, and her sister Davia Hudson. 

She is survived by her daughter Jessica Legg, son Joshua Burgess, sisters Elissa Johnson and Tena Weir, brother Ray Smith Jr., 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

In her life, Arrietta was a caregiver and loved tending to her garden.

Arrietta's family is requesting that anyone who is able, please assist in paying for her cremation by making a donation in lieu of flowers. 

There will be a memorial service on Sunday, August 17, 2025, with a visitation at 1 pm and the service beginning at 3 pm.
