Betsy Lynn Stephenson Nee'Samples

Betsy Lynn Stephenson, nee’ Samples, 63, of Rand, WV, fell asleep in Christ, on September 9, 2016.

She was born February 10, 1953, in Charleston, to the late Gordan Lee Samples and Ramona Arbogast Samples.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She was a graduate of Clay County High School and received her bachelor’s degree from WV State University.

Betsy was a member of the 1st Advent Christian Church, Randolph St., and was retired from the State of West Virginia with 33 years of service.  Betsy was an avid team trivia player.

She is survived by her loving family, loving companion, John Hagen,  son Matthew Gordan Stephenson and his wife Marjorie Faye of Dunbar, sisters, Nancy Samples of Procious, Mary L. Samples of Belle, and nephew, Jeremy Samples of Procius.

Memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 1st Advent Christian Church, Randolph St., Charleston, WV 25302. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

Final arrangements are in the care of   Elk Funeral Home, 2001 Pennsylvania Ave., Charleston, WV.
