David Lee Cavender

David Lee Cavender, 58, of Charleston, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017, surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 2, 1958, in Charleston, to the late William Denver and Almeda Marie Jones Cavender. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby R., and a brother, Donnie Cavender.
David was a graduate of Herbert Hoover High School, Class of 1977.
He was an environmental specialist.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and was loved by all who knew him
Left to cherish David's memory include his daughters, Shannon Metheney and Ann Cummings (Travis); grandchildren, Eli, Ottice, Kenny, and Gannon; sisters, Karen Kennedy (Bill), and Glenna Wiley; and brothers, William (Lou), Ronald, and Dennis Cavender.
A Celebration of David's Life will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, December 1, at the Elk Funeral Home, 2001 Pennsylvania Ave., Charleston, WV 25302. Private burial will be at the Cavender Cemetery, Cooper's Creek.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the funeral home to defray service charges.
