Malcolm Q. Cottrell

Malcolm Q. Cottrell, 55, of Walton, WV, passed away, July 4, 2021, after a sudden illness.

He was born September 6, 1965 to the late John Q. and Alma Mae Brown Hutchinson. He was also preceded by brothers, Jimmy and Dale.

Malcolm was a police officer for the towns of Glasgow, Pratt, Clendenin, and Gauley Bridge. He was a bounty hunter and had ran for Sheriff of Roane Co.

Malcolm is survived by his loving family, daughter, Erica Nicole Cottrell, son Michael Quinton Cottrell, step-son, Larry D. Cottrell, fiancée Lisa Coovert and son, Mason A. Coovert, brothers, Jeff of South Carolina, Larry Dewayne (Sandy) of Maryland, Tommy (Melanie) of Summersville, Mark of Walton, sister, Barbara (Paul) Carpenter of Dunbar, and his faithful beloved K-9 Police Dog “Bo”.

Funeral serve will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 8, at Elk Funeral Home, 2001 Pennsylvania Ave, Charleston, WV 25302, with Pastor Ora Holbert officiating, Burial will be in Hutchinson Cemetery, Vineyard Ridge. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM, Thursday until service time at the funeral home.
