Phyllis Renee Fisher, 62 of St. Albans, flew into the arms of Jesus after a short illness, too soon, on February 7, 2023. She was a very special lady who could strike up a conversation with anyone, and you would instantly be her best friend, even if she didn’t know your name.
Phyllis was born on September 17, 1960, the youngest daughter of Milford G. and Emma Jean Fisher, and attended Shockey School in St. Albans, WV. She grew up loving to listen to and sing country music. She would show off all of her autographs, as well as sing whenever she could, whether alone, with a choir, at birthday parties, or anniversaries. If there was an occasion, she would show off her voice. Just like her father, she also enjoyed working on puzzles.
Phyllis always had a love for life, playing dolls and games with not just her nieces and nephews, but also with her great nieces and great nephews. Her favorite holiday was Christmas - she loved the lights, music, spirit of the season, and always anticipated Santa. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Milford G. and Emma Jean Fisher, and by her nephew, Steven Lipscomb. She is survived by her siblings: Carl "Eddie" Fisher (Diane) of Poca, WV, Sandra Riffle (Otis) of Bancroft, WV, Pamela Parrish of Cross Lanes, WV, Larry Fisher (Deniese) of St. Albans, WV, and Kimberly Keeling (Fred) of Willis, TX. Special Brothers John and Gilbert Shawver of Buffalo, WV. Special Sister Caroll Goodall of Charleston, WV. Uncle John Henderson of Eleanor, WV, and Namesake Aunt Phyllis Fisher of Charleston, WV, Aunt Dreama Layne of Arizona. She had several nephews, nieces, and cousins. The family would like to express their gratitude to Stonerise Nursing Facility in Charleston for their care and support of Phyllis. Visitation will be held at Elk Funeral Home, Charleston, WV, on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11:00 am. Service will follow afterward with Uncle and Pastor John Henderson officiating. Burial will take place at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens in Cross Lanes.
