Shirley R. "Tootie" Bailey

March 5, 1946 — December 14, 2017

Mrs. Shirley R. “Tootie” Bailey, 71, passed away December 14, 2017 at her home in Little River, SC. She
was born on March 5, 1946 in Charleston, WV and was the daughter of the late Arl and Violet Cavender.
She was also preceded in death by sisters, Kay Frances Cavender and Joyce Foster.  Tootie and Roy made their home in Charleston, WV from 1977 until 1994, when they moved to Little River, SC.
Tootie was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, Class of 1964.
After moving to SC, Tootie was an office manager for Moody Landrum Builders from 1994 until
retirement in 2008.

She is survived by her loving family;husband of 40 years, Roy L. Bailey, children; Sheri K. Chafin of Red House, Margaret Guthrie (Steve) of Cross Lanes, Jeffrey Bailey of Pittsburgh, PA, Angela Alford (James) of Nitro, granddaughters; Andrea, Olivia, Tasha, Brittani, Jessica and grandsons; Cory, Alec, Andrew, Adam and Austin and great grandson; Mason; sisters; Arlene Talbert of Charleston, Marty Chapman of Sissonville, Helen Bukovinsky of Cross Lanes, brothers; Robert Cavender of Cross Lanes, and Earl Cavender of Maryland.
Tootie loved her family, dogs and friends with every breath she took.
Special thanks to McLeod Hospice and their great staff, the Charleston Police Department.  Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Elk Funeral Home, 2001 Pennsylvania Ave., Charleston, WV  25302. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, WV.  Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time, Tuesday. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations to McLeod Hospice Care, Little River, South Carolina. Online condolences may be left at elkfuneralhome.com and selecting Tootie's obituary.
