Timothy "Tim" Harrison

Timothy Mark Harrison, 72, of Malden, West Virginia, went home to be with God on July 4, 2025, at Hubbard Hospice House West after a long battle with multiple illnesses. Tim was born in Charleston, West Virginia, on August 16, 1952, to the late Ulysses Grant "Jiggs" and Edna Harrison. A 1970 graduate of Charleston High School, he attended West Virginia State College before graduating from the West Virginia State Police Academy. Tim retired from the DuPont Belle plant after almost 39 years of faithful service.

Tim loved being in the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He was a devoted family man and loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren more than anything. He enjoyed visiting with friends, good food, Nascar races, and spoiling his family. He was a member of Big Bottom Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jiggs and Edna, his sister Bonnie Harrison, and his first wife, Kay A. Harrison.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Janet K Harrison, his daughters Stephanie Harrison Taylor (DJ) of Dunbar, West Virginia, Melissa Benson (John) of South Carolina, Becky Burford of Cedar Grove, West Virginia, and bonus "daughter" Jennifer Taylor Kidd of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Tim always said the only steps we had were the ones on the porch, and family did not have to share the same blood. He is also survived by his grandchildren Marissa Ramsey of Florida, Taylor Jones of Texas, Hayleigh Johnson of Charleston, West Virginia, Lucas, Charley Ann, and Jake Burdford of Cedar Grove, West Virginia, and his great-grandchildren Mia and Elon of Florida.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm, with the funeral service starting at 1 pm at Elk Funeral & Cremation Service, 2001 Pennsylvania Avenue, Charleston, West Virginia 25302. Joe Martin and Frank Allen, friends and co-workers of Tim from DuPont, will preach at the funeral service. 

A burial will follow at Elk Hills Memorial Park, 4705 Pennsylvania Ave, Charleston, West Virginia 25302.
